Description

A reducer in construction and carpentry is a type of molding or trim used to create a smooth transition between two different flooring surfaces that are at different heights. It is commonly used when transitioning from a higher flooring surface to a lower one. The reducer molding is shaped like a ramp, sloping gently downward from one surface to another.
